Watch TV shows and movies from Hulu without leaving the comfort of your couch. If you’ve got an XBMC media center you’d be silly to not install this plugin (assuming you live in the US: Hulu is still blocked in all other countries). A couple weeks ago I discovered that Boxee on the desktop is dead. I was disappointed, but was thrilled to discover that XBMC is not only a capable replacement but better than Boxee.

Netflix recently launched in the UK – and I wrote up a full and shining review of the service last time. It offers an affordable way to get high quality on-demand movies and TV straight into your living room (or any portable device). My question today is – is Netflix the ultimate solution to piracy? Our generation has grown up believing everything should be instant access. But the industry hasn’t adapted.

Boxee fans – it’s over. There may be more fun to have with the Boxee Box, but Boxee on the desktop isn’t coming back. It’s time to find something else if you have a computer hooked up to your television. We should have seen it coming. There was an entire year between updates for desktop users, during which things continued to break.

It took long enough, but Netflix has finally decided to roll out their popular streaming service in the United Kingdom and Ireland. They will be going head to head with popular services such as Amazon-owned Lovefilm, and with the slew of problems Netflix has had recently, getting a foothold there may not be so easy. However, Netflix needs a new market, and the UK and Ireland is the perfect place.

If you are a user of Boxee on your home computer, I have some good news and some bad news. I will start with the good news, after all, we all enjoy the happy stuff. They have issued a major overhaul to the service with their latest update. It changes nearly everything about the user interface. The home screen is new, the main menu is new, they added rotten tomatoes ratings, and so much more.

Almost everyone enjoys watching some TV at one time or another. It is a terrific way to take your mind off the world around you and relax. The problem for me is that I always seem to forget when the shows I want to watch are on. I will be sitting around playing some Call of Duty or Skyrim, and the next thing I know, the show I was waiting for has come and gone.

The new 60 Minutes app for Chrome is so good, you’ll wonder why every other TV website sucks. For that matter, you’ll wonder why the regular 60 Minutes website sucks. The purpose of the app couldn’t be simpler. With it, you can watch segments from 60 Minutes, the famous American telejournalism show that helped define TV news as a medium.

The next best way to dig deeper into the world of Dexter is on the internet. The internet has a wealth of information on anything, and tons of people ready and willing to give their opinion on anything you are looking for.

Unless you’re old enough to remember the films I’m about to talk about, it’s likely that the advertising campaigns of years gone by will be both alien and oddly familiar in equal doses. This collection features a good amount of 1940s, 50s and 60s advertising materials which provides a valuable snapshot of mass media and life in the USA at the time.
