Some of you may blog about your experiences too, thus adding to the vast amount of information out there about the things you love to do. But when the event was attended by a group of friends, the story is often best told together, instead of in separate spaces.

HDR stands for High Dynamic Range, and in photographic terms generally produces an image where the entire scene is balanced, and evenly exposed. Recently I’ve not been seeing much of this on the web. I’m talking about overdone, blown-out seizure-inducing “photographs” where each slider has been cranked up to 11. Did the novelty just wear off or am I just a miserable sod?

Although many people now use Facebook or Google’s Picasa to share and backup photos online, there are still plenty of people who prefer to keep on using Flickr for one reason or another. If you are a regular Flickr user, you might have noticed that there are plenty of tools for downloading photos, however many of them are a little hacky and are not very elegant or easy to use.

Now that iLife applications can be purchased separately in the App Store, I highly recommend iPhoto ’11 as the most essential program in the suite to have on your Mac, especially if you regularly take digital photos. Apple has added features that make its premiere image management and enhancement application do everything you need with your photos.

Mobile photo and video sharing is on the rise. According to a recent report, users are uploading more video content than ever before, much of which is being uploaded via mobile devices. This can be attributed to more people adopting smartphones and new smartphones being able to capture high resolution photos and videos.

Today we’re going to be looking at Pano, a camera app that currently goes for $2 on the Android Market. Pano has no built-in effects; it doesn’t have advanced shutter controls or a built-in timer. It doesn’t do Lomo, and you can’t say “cheese” to have it take a picture. It does just one thing, but something no other camera app I reviewed so far can do – it helps you take large, beautiful panoramic images.

Photos have become an important part of the smartphone experience, be it taking them, sharing them or displaying them. Therefore it’s no surprise that Android phones come with a gallery app by default, but the quality isn’t always up to par. Once again, third-party apps come to the rescue. Almost everyone needs a gallery app, so it’s little surprise that many are available.

Photovine is like Flickr in that it allows users to share their photos in a social way. It is designed to make sharing and uploading photos easy and fun. It also makes it easy to find photos that interest you because of the inclusion of Vines. Vines are similar to tags in Flickr. They are groups of pictures that are similar.

Whenever you look at a picture, have you ever wondered what kind of events led to that captured moment? Was the birthday boy aware that his face was going to light up when he saw his birthday cake? Or how the baby girl turned from giggling to screaming when she saw the cat behind her.
