If you’re a heavy iTunes users with a significant size music collection, you definitely should know about Doug’s AppleScripts for iTunes. Doug Adams has been writing scripts for iTunes ever since Apple’s inception of its popular jukebox. As far as I can tell, iTunes seems to be the most scriptable of all the default Mac applications.

Apple‘s upcoming OS Lion trackpad and mouse gestures don’t compare to what BetterTouchTool and another similar application, MagicPrefs, have to offer. These applications are for Mac users who find Apple‘s default click, tap, and two-finger scrolling gestures too limiting for their needs. MagicPrefs is a free offering that you might want to try.

When you upgraded to Snow Leopard most things probably got much better, but occasionally you might stumble across something that doesn’t suit you and you want to change it back. One of these little annoyances is changing the application icons. Once upon a time, you used to be able to copy and paste your preferred icons in order to change them to a new icon. But in Snow Leopard things are different.

We’re always looking for hacks and fixes to everyday iTunes problems and listening to iTunes users to see what they’re still troubled with. Since Ping is one of the newer features in iTunes, Apple is only just realising that many people have legitimate reasons to want to turn it off. Thankfully, it’s quite easy to disable in two very effective ways.

Our favorite, all-time file sharing service, Dropbox, generously provides up to 2 gigs of file space for free. For many users this might be enough, but now that Dropbox is becoming the central cloud syncing service for shuffling and sharing stuff between computers and mobile devices, the allotted free space may fill up rather quickly if it’s not probably managed and organized.

We all know iTunes is a program which inspires extreme feelings of love and hate. Sometimes, the changes iTunes introduce are so disliked by the community that people work out how to change it back. In this case, the vertical window controls iTunes introduced are so different to everyday Mac use that most users want to change it back to horizontal in order to make it less annoying.
