Google has announced yet another change to Google Images, this one aimed at making images easier to browse, and making important image information more accessible. The redesign will include an inline panel where you’ll be able to see images, complete with metadata, and flip through them using your keyboard.

Being a blogger and an editor there was one feature I missed. Firefox has a default image properties feature that gives you the basic dope on any image on a webpage. It is as easy as right-clicking on any image and selecting View Image Info. It is not even an add-on. Strangely, Chrome lacks this feature, or let’s say that Chrome’s Inspect Element isn’t actually user friendly and is lacking when it comes to straight-up information. So, I guess it's time to run to an extension.

For more day to day mundane uses, we need free images for decorate a blog post, seek inspiration, set a wallpaper, make a collage, or just finish the school homework. This post thus takes a ‘back-to-basics’ approach and attempts to go over the same image searching ground as before, but in a more comprehensive manner. I hope to again show that searching for the right free image is easy enough, provided you know where to look.

Hugely thanks to internet superpower Reddit, Imgur is definitely regarded as the web's most elite all-purpose image host. The website's emergence took a huge chunk out of similar sites like Tinypic. Imgur just does free image hosting better. The look and feel of the uploading interface is so much nicer than other sites in the same class and it'll definitely help when you aren't barraging users with ads.
