Something that doesn't appear often when it comes to mobile apps are sports games, which is weird because they aren't (or in my opinion shouldn't be) all that much harder to make than the many puzzle games available in both the Android and iOS app stores. Therefore, if you're a big sports fan, it's great to have a couple of games on your smartphone related to your favorite sports.

A great example of a sports game that pulls a section of the sport and makes it into a fun game that is made for the touch platform is Flick Soccer. It might not be the deepest game I've ever played on iOS, but it offers simple, fun gameplay that anyone can pick up and play and have a good time with. It's relatively challenging and really fun. As a bonus, it is available on the App Store for the low-cost of $0.

College Football Radio & Live Scores ($0.99) is quite a long name for an app, and a fairly descriptive one at that. HaxBall is both one of the most simple games I've ever played, in regards to gameplay and visuals, and one of the most addictive. I'm not even a big soccer (football, for our Europeans) fan, either.
