Firefox stores your browser data – bookmarks, history, preferences, extensions, and everything else – in a directory known as a profile. Each user account has a single profile by default, but you don’t have to restrict yourself to just one — you can create multiple profiles and even run multiple Firefox instances with different profiles as the same time. If there’s any downside to working online, it’d have to be the repetitive tasks that hit you in the face on a daily basis. That same burden weighs on those of us who use the Internet on our personal time. Who wants to be constantly filling out the same exact signup information on every new website they visit? It’s a waste of time and it isn’t necessary. Luckily, if you use Firefox, there’s a very simple solution.

Web designers have an almost impossible job. They need to come up with one design that pleases everyone. When talking about a service like Gmail, used by countless millions of people all over the world, you can really drop the “almost” part – it’s just impossible. The web is full of things we wish we could read. Unfortunately, there isn’t always time to spend in front of the screen, reading away to our heart’s content. This is a well-known phenomena, and big names such as Instapaper and Read It Later do a good job in solving this problem. But these two aren’t the only solutions out there.

I don’t like Firefox. I think it is a monolithic, huge, heavy browser, and its XPI-based architecture feels slow and dated. Firefox is more flexible than other browsers like Chrome but it also gradually slows down and freezes. Let me show you some quick techniques I’ve used to get around this and use Firefox in relative comfort (and responsiveness).

It’s no secret that we’re not huge fans of Adblock here at MakeUseOf. But we know that some of you won’t let go of Adblock until it’s pried out of your cold, dead hands. If you must use Adblock, you can still support MakeUseOf and other websites you love by whitelisting us. It’s time for a truce between Adblock users and respectful advertisers.

Tab Utilities is a Firefox add-on that helps you to control the behavior of different links from different locations to the smallest detail. You can determine how tabs will open or close, where links from external applications open, change the appearance of various tab states, and determine what different mouse clicks on different types of links will do.
