Some people might say that having Facebook and Stupid in the same title is a bit redundant. They may be correct. There are definitely a lot of things that qualify as stupid on Facebook, and the harsh reality is that there are a lot of stupid people on Facebook. Come on folks, there's over half a billion people on Facebook, some of them, statistically speaking, have to be stupid! In fact, at least 49% of us on Facebook are below average intelligence.

One incredibly effective use of a Facebook hosted brand page is to incentivise people to like the page by creating some secret members-only content; commonly referred to as a "fan gate". Facebook has also partnered with Heroku - a cloud hosting company - which means you can create your own basic Facebook app, and host it for free, on a secure server. If you manage a Facebook page for a website or company, the new update for Page Manager on iOS should make you quite happy. The main feature of this new version applies to Apple iPad users. For whatever reason, the old app did not support usage in landscape mode, but this new update has rectified the situation. It is more of a convenience move, and won't really change the way you do business on Facebook, but it certainly looks nice.

Facebook pages come in all manner of different shapes and sizes. Many are pretty lame, gaining very few likes and with hardly anyone talking about them. Obviously the subject of the page is the most important aspect - if it already has a sizable community then it will likely be doing well - but there are ways anyone can improve the popularity of their Facebook page, regardless of who or what their page is about.
