Better or not, every diehard fan has his own personal take on what his “favorite” movie should have been like. Especially, if it left a sour taste in the mouth, like Star Wars: Attack of The Clones for me. I definitely would have done the romantic scenes better and probably helped to preserve the “classic” tag that gets attached to Star Wars films for our generation.

Entertainment company Endemol is planning to increase its footprint on YouTube with a new channel featuring its popular reality game show, Fear Factor. The Fear Factor YouTube channel will launch in the U.S. first, followed by the European version of the channel. The channel, which is by no means Endemol's first, is part of a marketing strategy that seeks to leverage YouTube’s popularity by building a social community around shows cross-promoting on YouTube's menu.

Over the years, I've tried my hand at a number of media center software alternatives. Some people swear by XBMC, or swore by Boxee before it stopped developing the Boxee desktop application. In the end, I always come back to Plex. Plex has matured a lot. Now, it's not only on of the most eye-catching media center applications, it's a easy to use solution I would recommend to most people looking to build a media center.

In October 2012 Disney acquired Lucasfilm, the production company primarily known for the Star Wars and Indiana Jones franchises. For a fraction over $4 billion, Disney therefore landed the Star Wars franchise, and promptly announced that it would be making three new films to complete the nine-film story arc originally planned by George Lucas in the 1970s. Various spin-offs are also expected.

Whether you’re thinking of cutting the cord or just want to watch TV on your own schedule instead of the television network’s, there are more legal ways to watch television online than ever. Even better, many of these legal options are free. Most of these websites will expose you to commercials - someone has to pay for the free TV - but you’ll end up watching commercials if you pay to watch TV the traditional way, anyway.

A few years ago, attending university, I started renting an apartment. I took over the current electric plan and went to a different Internet service provider, but the television provided a bit of a conundrum. Cable television had become an intrinsic part of my day-to-day routine, but was it worth the money? Or was it even worth the hassle? In the end, I decided to cut the cable. Abstaining from cable television has a number of advantages.

The ultimate media center software offers a wide variety of ways for you to catch up with your favorite shows online, legal and otherwise. Set up a few plugins and you can watch whatever you want in a couple of clicks, from the comfort of your couch. Legally watching TV shows can be insanely complicated, depending on where you live.

If you're based in the US, or have found a workaround like Tunlr for those of you who aren't, keeping up with your favourite TV shows and movies on the free service Hulu is one of the best ways to watch TV. The most popular shows are available on Hulu, and you can watch them pretty much any time you want. That's not to to say that the service couldn't be better. There's a few things about Hulu we're not crazy about.

I've been building a media centre recently. Actually, scratch that – I’ve been building two. One is a compact device (my Raspberry Pi) running the RaspBMC distribution of XBMC, while the other is a traditional HTPC home build - a media centre in a slimline PC case with added TV card. At this stage I haven’t quite decided which system I’m going to stick with long term, so I have a sort of competition running between the two.
