How do you use your Windows Phone? I know a lot of users who are purely addicted to a combination of WhatsApp and Xbox Live gaming. Others enjoy their Windows Phones purely due to the social networking options (which are admittedly impressive). Then there are also those of us who take advantage of the various productivity tools. Email is of course one of these (along with the mobile Microsoft Office).

  • Become a Pro Outlook User By Avoiding Common Mistakes

    March 6, 2013

    emailmistake

If you work in a typical office environment, the odds are pretty good that the mail system is an Exchange sever and that the mail client of choice is Outlook. We've covered Outlook here at MUO from a few angles, including Outlook Journal and backing up your Outlook data. We even covered some cool VBA scripting in Outlook where you could export your tasks into an Excel spreadsheet. In this article, I'm going to take a closer look at the Outlook client itself.

  • Setting Up An Email Client? Here Is Mail Server Info For The 3 Biggest Email Providers

    March 5, 2013

    Email

Do you still use any desktop email clients? The last one that I ever made any significant use of was Outlook Express, and that feels like forever ago. Since then, I've given both Thunderbird and Postbox (which I was very impressed with) a spin, but desktop email clients in general seem like a lost cause to a Gmail user like myself. Nothing beats the Gmail web interface, in my opinion. My opinion isn't the law of the land though.

  • Take Your Inbox Box To Zero With Mailbox For The iPhone

    February 11, 2013

    Mailboxapp_icon.jpg

The default Mail client for the iPhone has become in my opinion outdated, or it's certainly not as advanced as the hardware it resides in. Mail is not fun to navigate, and its latest features don't provide much of a productivity boost. But the just released popular third-party email client, Mailbox (Free), may make Apple's Mail client feel like a third-rate piece of software.

With your shiny new Windows 8 device or upgrade booted up, tiles gleaming at you and winking with useful information, you might take a few moments having a look around before you get the chance to look at the email client. • 5 Of The Best Desktop Email Clients That Don’t Cost a Dime [Windows]

    October 12, 2012

    Desktop Email Clients Intro

Specialization is the key to efficiency, especially in the realm of software. Programs that try to "do it all" end up becoming bloated, messy, and subpar in most of what they do. On the other hand, programs that have a specific focus tend to excel. Email clients are no different. Having a specialized desktop client that handles your email for you is a great way to stay organized and free up time.

Mail, the default email application on Mac OS X, is a surprisingly slick and feature-rich application. I've used a lot of different email clients, both in the cloud and on my desktop. No matter what, I tend to keep coming back to using the Mail application for day-to-day email management. Mail provides a lot of help with day-to-day email management. While this might seem like a very general question, what we want to learn today is whether you use a web interface or a desktop (or other) client for your emails. Are you between the converted, or do you still prefer using a client for your emails? Or do you use a different solution?

Did you sign up for an Outlook.com email address with Microsoft’s new Outlook.com email service, or do you still have a Hotmail account you prefer? If you're an Android user, you have several options for accessing that account on your Android phone or tablet. Microsoft provides an official Hotmail app that works for Outlook.com addresses, too. You can also use Android’s included Email app, if you like that instead. From the developers of Firefox, SeaMonkey promises to provide you with access to all of your online needs - browsing and email primarily, although an IRC client and WYSIWYG web editor is also included. In my quest to consolidate desktop applications that chew up my precious memory as I'm trying to test other apps and blog at the same time, I thought I would give SeaMonkey a full-out test run and really dig into its features.
