The average Internet user will probably handle nearly everything they download online through their web browser. Some browsers do it right - Opera's built-in download management is the best in the field. Others, not so much. Firefox, despite being one of my favorite browsers otherwise, is very weak in this area. It shouldn't matter though, because (in my opinion) the best way to handle your downloads is by using a third-party manager.

Aah downloads! Probably the favorite activity we indulge in all day instead of shutting down the computer and taking a walk outside. Thanks to download managers, we can actually take a walk outside without us having to shut down the computer. After years of being a loyal Firefox user, I've finally made the switch to the same side of the river as many of my MakeUseOf colleagues and jumped to Google Chrome. Albeit late by most of your standards, I'm catching on quickly. The single thing that was keeping me with Firefox was their extensive library of add-ons. Being able to mass download within the browser is a big deal to me because I'm a bit of a hoarder.
