Wearing a headset while gaming adds a social element that makes the gaming experience that much better. While TeamSpeak may have started off as a solution for competitive gaming teams to discuss strategy and tactics in real-time, it has evolved into something beyond the bare essentials. It is used by casual gamers and fierce e-sports enthusiasts alike. TeamSpeak is a great program for talking with your gamer friends.

Read full post: TeamSpeak 3: The Original Cross-Platform Voice Chat For Gaming Teams and Clans

Sadly, many of the critics turned on Songbird when it failed to deliver after a number of years and, today, it seems like this music player is nearly forgotten. Back in 2010, the cross-platform Songbird dropped support for Linux as part of its plan for reinventing itself as it moved forward. Has Songbird refined itself and progressed enough to warrant a second chance? Let's see!

Read full post: Songbird Classic: Cross-Platform & Open Source Music Manager

I mean, if you really think about it, all somebody needs to do is run past you and grab your phone while you’re using it and they have a good chance of getting away with it. While searching for a way to play a few multiplayer games I hit a snag - a distinct lack of controllers. While looking for a solution I came across Joypad for iPhone, and the now slightly outdated Joypad Legacy app. Using a Mac or Windows PC and a couple of iPhones, it's surprisingly easy to turn your handheld iOS device into a touchscreen gamepad.

Read full post: Turn Your iPhone Into A Gamepad With Joypad Legacy [Mac & Windows]

However, VirtualBox isn’t your only option for creating and using free virtual machines. VMware Player, VMware’s free product, is every bit as good as VirtualBox for many users. You may even prefer it to VirtualBox. VMware Player runs on Windows and Linux.

Read full post: Run Multiple Operating Systems At Once With VMware Player

At some point I realised I was bereft of a file recovery tool and it was at that point I discovered PhotoRec.

Read full post: Recover Accidentally Deleted Files From Any OS With PhotoRec [Windows, Mac, & Linux]

It's a nifty menubar utility that makes it incredibly easy to upload and share small files. CloudApp developer team has also published an API for their service, meaning other developers can create third-party CloudApp clients. Below, we'll be looking at five different CloudApp clients to use the service on most popular operating systems, desktop and mobile.

Read full post: Use CloudApp Across Operating Systems With These Five Clients
