The Best 6 Sites to Get Free Ebooks

You might be surprised by how many good free ebook sites there are out there. Nowadays, you can find pretty much any popular (and not) book online. You just need to know where to look. Here are my favorite free ebook sites.

1. Ebook Search Engines

These are simple Google-like search engines but for PDF files. I usually start my ebook search using one of these sites. Type in the title of the document or book name you’re looking for and click on the search button. Find your book in the search results and click on download link. Done.

Manage Your Games, Books, DVD’s and Audio With Libra

Watching, playing, listening and reading can be one hell of a lot of fun, but collecting by itself can be enjoyed just as much as well. You buy those new DVD’s at Best Buy, get some great audio from the iTunes music store and also that new book from Gaiman.

When you keep going on like this, you’ll eventually lose track of the where, the how and the what of your collection. To create some order in this chaos, we need to use collector programs. One of the best and free collection suites is Libra. Read on for an in-depth review.

4 Open Source Collection Manager Apps

I have way too much stuff - so much in fact that it’s often difficult to keep track of it all. Rather than get rid of some of it though, I’ve done what any self-respecting person who calls himself a geek and a collector would do: I turned to the internet.

In the process I managed to find four open source programs that all call themselves “collection managers.” That is, they all claim to make it easy to catalog and keep track of your collections of things like books, movies, and CDs.

The Top 5 Sites To Find Your College Textbooks

As a college student, I would have to say that for me the most difficult part of financing higher education is tuition. Going to a private institution, and even a public institution, can be a very expensive life cost. Fortunately, there are scholarships and grants scattered all over the place just waiting for students to take advantage of.

With that taken care of, the second most difficult finance in college is textbooks. Textbooks can cost anywhere from hundreds to thousands of dollars per semester. For the average undergraduate college student that could amount to approximately $5,000 just for textbooks! As with tuition, there are great opportunities to save a lot of money on textbooks and my favorite methods live online.

Download Free Music, Videos & Movies On iTunes

Free music is and always has been one of the top internet favorites. (Remember Napster?) While the trend is already shifting from that dark p2p-age to the more civilized crowd, netizens today are still craving for free music and it IS available legally if you know where to look for it.

iTunes Freebies

With millions of song downloads, the term “internet and music” can’t be separated from iTunes and the store. So, it’s natural that many people turn to iTunes to find (free) music.

Join The User-Generated Content Revolution

To me, the internet is the best invention since someone slapped a piece of cheese on a slice of bread, stood too close to the fire and subsequently discovered grilled cheese sandwiches. But the World Wide Web has the potential to get MUCH better when the average internet user actively participates in adding content to the web and validating what’s already there. Now I’m not talking about revising your My Space profile or updating the viagra offers on your website but instead taking part in some of the voluntary online projects or web services that are trying to “evolve the web” and make sense of what’s already out there. You only need donate a couple of hours a week which in itself would make all the difference. Here’s a snapshot of what you can get started with :

Expert Advice: Websites for the Book Lover

I have one huge addiction in life - books. In fact, as I write this, I am peering through two large piles of books, praying that they don’t fall over and hit my girlfriend on the head. I buy books faster than I can read them, which is partly due to being enticed by the following websites ……

9 Websites to Swap Your Stuff

swapshop1.jpg When I was a young kiddie and the apple of my mother’s eye, I would spend part of my Saturday mornings watching Swap Shop on TV. Swap Shop was presented by British cheeky chappie Noel Edmonds and people would come on the show to swap their trading cards for a GI Joe, or their little brother in exchange for Yoda, and so on. Fast-forward twenty-five years and we now have more or less the same concept online.

NOTE: These sites are pre-dominantly US sites although it may be possible to register a non-US address. Check each site for details.

Organize, Share, and Discover Books with LibraryThing

I was planning to review a bunch of services today, that I have scheduled a while ago. But on sunday after getting back from partying I somehow managed to overwrite file with review schedule (funny thing I do not even remember opening it). Anyways, things actually turned out to be even better once I stumbled into one of my notes with LibraryThing scrambled on it. So, it’s all below
