Mozilla recently put out a new version of their popular browser called Firefox with Bing. As the creative name implies, it is Firefox but with Bing running behind the scenes. Basically, this changes the search engine in the awesome bar and the search bar to Bing, instead of Firefox’s staple, Google. It also changes the default homepage to Bing.com.

When it comes to travel, Microsoft Bing gives us a better deal than Google. Google has a cool tool in the experimental Google Hotel Finder. You can also use Google to do a quick flight search by typing in something like flight New York to London and get a scheduled flight list. But this article is not about Google…it’s about Bing Travel and how it has taken off while its chief rival revs up its engines.

Bing has introduced typeless searching on the iPad, with the goal of reducing the amount of tapping, and copying and pasting that users of the iPad have to do to perform searches in a web browser like Mobile Safari. Does Bing accomplish its goal?

Searching multiple search databases simultaneously is nothing new. Today’s little collection includes best multi-feature web-based tools to search at least two search engines and see results side by side (either to compare them or just to be able to see more search results at a time)

Microsoft, in partnership with Facebook, this week rolled out what is being dubbed “social search” or “the friend effect” on its flagship search engine, Bing. The technology allows anyone with a Facebook account to log in, recommend, discuss and share directly from within Bing search results.
