    Apple unveiled Fusion Drive during the presentation of the new Mac products and upgrades. Fusion Drive is an optional feature that merges a 128GB flash drive (SSD) with a 1TB or 3TB hard drive — both into a single volume. It can be purchased as part of the new Macs, and in lieu of the traditional HDD or the latest Flash drives. The hybrid Fusion Drive will mean faster read and write performance for disk-intensive tasks and applications.

  • Apple Extends Its iMac 1TB Seagate Hard Drive Replacement Program To April 2013 [Updates]

    If you own a 21.5 or 27-inch iMac that was produced between October 2009 and July 2011, your Mac may be eligible for Apple's Seagate Hard Drive Replacement Program. According to an official notice, Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider will replace affected Seagate hard drives, free of charge for three years after the retail sale of the iMac or until April 12, 2013. You can quickly find out if your iMac is eligible by submitting its serial number, which can be found by clicking on the Apple icon in the top-left corner of the desktop.
