There are a fair few news reader apps available for iOS and Android already, and no shortage of quality either. A previous cross-platform favourite was Feedly, but recently my most used app has been Pulse. Much like Feedly, Pulse provides a slick, attractive interface from which to read Google Reader and a huge variety of news sites and blogs. Best of all it’s available for both iPhone and iPad on iOS and Android smartphones too.

Mindjet is the one of the premier tools for mindmapping in the personal and corporate space. Recently, Thinking Space was acquired by Mindjet and combined into Mindjet for Android. The app which is available for free (unlike the earlier Thinking Space Pro and Mindjet’s very own desktop software) is clocking up a lot of downloads. How handy is the mobile mindmapping solution? YouTube Remote is a fantastic and free Android application by Google that lets you control YouTube on any PC using your smartphone. I found out about it thanks to commenter TKCOLE, who recommended it in the comment section of our Best Of Android page. Dropbox is my preferred syncing service, which works wonders on computers. However on mobile devices, especially Android devices, it leaves a lot to be desired, mainly because of the lack of support for two-way syncing goodness. Dropbox may or may not implement this feature soon, but in the meantime, Dropsync does a superb job of uploading and downloading files in real-time.

Dolphin has recently announced the release of two brand new add-ons for its popular Android browser.
