Hi Tom......

I've still never heard from anyone about this, and when I try to post to the forum with Firefox 3.0, all I get is a blank page when I click on the "submit" button. Why is there no one responding to anything?

Hi Tom......

About two weeks ago I sent in questions to Zenbe, either through a comment form or via email. I never got a response from anyone.

My Inbox refuses to load (just sits and spins), so I cannot use the service. I'm using Gmail with Zenbe.

Why would no one have responded to my query?

I have received my zenbe account today. I love it. very slick and I can definitely see a few ways it can be improved but I think with the amount of effort that looks that have been put into the site already this will get a hell of a lot better.

I think that with gmail/calendar integrations has a bit to go, but I think if you were dedicated into getting right into zenbe you would a lot of value from it. For me if the calendar had sms notifications like gcalander then it would be fully sold on me.

I am going to give it a real good go as it really has a lot of features right on the one page and not spead everywhere like googles app.

Well worth the 4 day wait.

Mmm...I'm not convinced...

The Zenbe interface is really well designed and responsive, but the fact that there is no 2-way (read-write) integration with GMail and Google Calendar will prevent me from switching to Zenbe for now.

I mean, if I delete an email in Zenbe I also want it to be gone from my GMail and if I plan an event in Zenbe, I want to see it in my Google Calendar...that's pretty basic.

The GMail rich text editor is also slighly more advanced (smileys, highlight) and with the right new Google Labs features enabled GMail -like the Google Calendar gadget and the Google Docs gadget- becomes a very versatile productivity center.

I'll check out how Zenbe develops over time to see where it goes, but until it actually allows me to control my GMail and Google Calendar for 100% I don't think its for me yet.

I agree with Laurence, there hasn't been any major feature releases for a long time now.

Zenbe is pretty sweet. I'm currently testing out it's features, love the twitter plugin. The best feature . . . ATTACHMENTS. Attachments are one click away, I'm able to see all attachments in 1 window.

I was this close to writing a lengthy post about how I couldn't conceive switching to a webmail service that, barbarically, didn't copy Gmail's conversational email style. Then I noticed that Zenbe actually does, it's just not the default when you sign up (which strikes me as odd).

And I love that it incorporates Twitter and Facebook, because those happen to be the two services (aside from Gmail/email) I use most.

I am now, once again, this close to switching. It's just so hard to pull the trigger after so long...

I have applied for invite 3 days ago and no response so far. So it's more than a 'slight' delay. Hopefully I'll get it before Christmas.

Looks great and works well but for one deal-breaking issue.

When I receive a meeting invite on GMail from Exchange, I have the same tools as in Outlook to accept, decline, add to calendar etc. I couldn't see that on Zenbe. This is critical to integration of Calendar and email. Maybe I missed it but to me that is a must have.

Also, I guess Google still has the edge on storage.

Thanks for the great write-up Sam and the comments from everyone.

We try to send out your sign-up activation within 24 hours. The reason there is a slight delay sometimes it that we do screen signups to try to reduce the amount of spammers signing up for the system.

As for speed, I can assure you that performance of the web site, particularly how fast we show you your email, is our top priorities. We have two engineers dedicated to that exclusively, and we hope by next week to start introducing some performance improvements out on the site.

If you're using Zenbe, I encourage you to get active in our forums. We're a small team made up mostly of engineers so it's challenging for us to always get back to your emails in a timely manner, but we do watch what you guys are saying on our user forums and are typically pretty responsive: http://forums.zenbe.com

Cheers,
Tom Alison
