WinZip Gives Away Courier And Offers Chance To Win HDTV After Reaching One Billion Downloads [Updates]

WinZip is closing in on one billion downloads, and in honor of this incredible feat, they are giving away version 3.5 of WinZip Courier. They are also providing entries to win a 60 inch high-definition television. Any user who downloads WinZip from their giveaway page will automatically receive their free license for WinZip Courier and their entry to win the gigantic television.

What is WinZip Courier? It is WinZip’s program designed for sending large files over email with ease. You simply write your email, choose the large files you want to attach, send it, and Courier will automatically zip the files up and get them to your recipient. It takes the extra steps required to package files in email and makes them send much quicker.

Courier supports Outlook, Yahoo! Mail, Gmail, and Hotmail. Users of these email services can now optimize sending large files without opening their wallet to buy WinZip Courier. For the webmail services, Courier supports Firefox, Internet Explorer and Chrome.

Courier normally runs for $24.99, so getting the chance to pick it up for free is certainly a good deal, and the possibility of winning a giant TV is definitely a huge bonus.

The giveaway runs from now through September 14th. If you are interested in getting in, you need to log on to their giveaway page soon and grab your entry.

I’ve been using WinRAR for ages, maybe I’ll try something new. They have very similar features, so it won’t be a big change. Also, as a poor college student, I wouldn’t mind a free HDTV either. :-D
