Next to free two-day shipping, Prime Video is the best thing about having a Prime membership. Or you can just get Prime Video on its own, which can be good if you don’t care about the free shipping.

Either way, when you combine it with one of these media streaming devices, you can watch the fullness of Amazon’s library of films and TV shows right in your home theater for a very affordable price.

Is it worth it even if you already have Netflix? Absolutely. The selection is different, as you’ll see from the new additions coming next month. We’ve bolded popular titles that may interest you.

I highly recommend Mr Holmes too. It's a beautiful, intimate story that might not be a thrill-a-minute, but is nonetheless engaging for its character studies. You won't get A Study in Scarlet, but you will get a joyous little tale. I enjoyed the book too, but the film, I think, is a bit better, just because the endings more upbeat.

Never heard of it but I'll give it a shot now that you've recommended it. Thanks Philip!
