If you follow us on Twitter, you probably took part in our latest “$100 gadget” contest. Just in case you happened to miss it, over the past two weeks, we asked our followers to send us suggestions for the best gadgets $100 could buy. The options were endless, and the only limitation was the $100 barrier. Of course, since we are a tech blog, the main focus of the contest was technology and gadgets, although we did get some very interesting requests that were not tech-related, such as shoes, chocolate, and even beer.

As promised, one of those who sent a request will win exactly what he/she asked for! Before we get to that, though, let’s take a small stroll through the many interesting, original and noteworthy suggestions we received. If you happen to have $100 to spare, here is what MakeUseOf’s followers suggest you do with it.

Can’t wait to see who won? Scroll all the way to the end, the answer awaits you there!

Unfortunately, not only did we already give one away, the Nexus 7 is no way near the $100 mark! Another popular request that failed to take this into account is the Kindle Touch. Amazon’s popular device is currently selling for $139 on Amazon, so that’s a no go.

So what should you buy if you have only $100 to spend? The most popular suggestions that can actually be bought for this amount of money were the Roku and Apple TV. Two great ways to enhance your television habits. Another very popular choice was a cheap Android tablet, most likely the Coby Kyros which we already reviewed and gave away Coby Kyros Android Tablet Review and Giveaway Coby Kyros Android Tablet Review and Giveaway Some time ago, I've set out to answer a simple question: When it comes to inexpensive Android tablets, how low can you go? What Would YOU Buy?

The amount of responses we received was overwhelming, and we were really happy to get all your requests. However, recounting them all there might lead to a very long, very boring post, and we don’t want that. So as promised, here are some useful, amusing and original highlights. Here’s what you, our readers, would like to do with $100.

@GreyMatatabi sent us many requests, and among other things, he would like to buy Brainwave cat ears, the Kodak Playfull and a Olloclip iPhone camera lens. Those are some great choices!

@moosebegab would like to get a Kobo Mini, which doesn’t seem to be out yet, @korhoden is dreaming about the Vizio Co-Star, and @anand_ritwik wants a pair of Sennheiser RS 120 Wireless Headphones (don’t we all…).

@M_Ordinateur thought a year of webhosting at Bluehost or similar would be a good way to spend $100, and @KouponKat suggested the Panasonic Link-to-Cell Bluetooth phone system, which looks mighty cool, if you still use regular phones.

@Rafa wants to get the Soundfreaq Sound Kick, an interesting bluetooth streamer, @OnlyMe3074 found the Canon PowerShot A1300  for exactly $100 on Amazon, and @Yielshelion, who sent in many requests, thought of getting a ThermalTake Middle Tower V4 chassis.

Other interesting options were the FreeLoader Pro Solar Charger from @tolitsm528, who also wants a full set of Raspberry Pi model B, HDMI cable, a micro USB PSU and a Raspberry Pi case, an iShower Bluetooth Speaker from @MobileTechNews , and an iPod Shuffle by @sd4david.

I can’t stand the suspense! Who won?

Did you miss this contest? Wish the person mentioned right below could be YOU? Start by following us on Twitter and watch the stream, there’s lots more to come in the future!

So who won his very own wish for a cool $100 gadget? Drum roll….

The lucky winner is Eric Wilborn (@ericwilborn) who asked for a Wall Switch Watch! This is a really cool hand watch with LED lights and three different positions. It’s called a switch watch because the display itself is a switch, flip the switch, and you get the time, flip it again, and you see the date. Simple, yet brilliant. Congratulations, Eric!
