As far as sound editing applications go, you cannot find freeware that is very feature-rich. There are however a few exceptions to that rule – sound editing freeware that lets you edit your audio files in a variety of ways. One such program is Wave Editor.

Wave Editor is a freeware sized at nearly 1.2MB and compatible with Windows computers. The application lets you edit WAV and MP3 files. You can easily clip an audio file by opening it with Wave Editor. Others available editing features include fading in, fading out, normalization, inversion, reversion, and amplification.

    Don't forget Audacity - it's the classic audio editing program that's easy enough for a beginner to use, but has more advanced features, too.
