The search feature seems a little wonky. I searched for 'Savage 2' and it was like 4th in the list.

But how much of that time is "Gathering the user's specs" and how much is "comparing user's specs to requirements", and how much more is "making recommendations as to what to buy/what drivers to upgrade"?

Besides which, if VGRequirements were just to display the user's own specs (without comparing), they'd only need to collect the specs once each visit - your specs aren't going to change between viewing two different games, so they can be stored in a temporary cookie - you get a minimal delay when you first visit the site and everything else is as fast as it is now, with added utility.

Hey Charax, thanks for the response and suggestion. We are working on several features in the background to appeal to those who are not particularly familiar with the specs of their machines.

We went with this approach primarily because we were frustrated with having to dig through websites just to find information that should be readily available. More importantly we wanted to make it FAST, one search and have results show up immediately.

Mobile users will be pleased to hear that in the next few weeks VGRequirements will begin to take full advantage of the mobile devices out there.

Further feedback is appreciated.

Thanks!

Hmmm... Perhaps, yes. But I know from 'Can You Run It' that it takes a rather long time to retrieve your own system specs. If you just want to quickly check the specs, and move on, I'd go for VGRequirements.

So the site is just a list of minimum/recommended requirements? you can get pretty much the same thing from searching Wikipedia for the game - case in point: <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tomb_Raider_Underworld#Development" title="Tomb Raider Underworld." rel="nofollow">

What makes Can I Run It so useful is that it can scan and compare your hardware so you don't need to know your system by heart to use it. If VGRequirements is going to be useful to a wide number of people they should display a user's own system specs (even without CIRI's "extensive computated comparison")
