We all want to save money. Usually however, we only focus on big purchases when we think about saving our money. The fact is that we spend the most on little things we buy frequently. Groceries come under this category. There is a good chance that you pay a lot for your grocery items without even knowing it. Some people shop intelligently and check out unit prices and do calculations before they go with a certain brand of cereal or flour.

But the rest of us are not that careful. We could surely make use of a money-saving iOS application called ValueTracker.

save money with your iphone

ValueTracker is a smartphone application compatible with iOS devices. The app is sized at nearly 500KB and is compatible with iPod Touch, iPhone, and iPad devices that are running version 4.1 or later of iOS. Basically, this application is a price book – something you can use to record and monitor the prices of things you frequently buy e.g. grocery items.

You can record the prices of things you buy to calculate and compare unit prices of different brands of the same item. You can keep on tracking prices and see what the trend of item prices has been in the past. Items can be sorted alphabetically in your list and you can easily search for them anytime. To bring your results in a physical form, you can export a printable copy of the data using iTunes File Sharing.
