Because We May has just launched to let developers sell games direct to consumers at a low cost. The opening sale will last until June 1st, and in the following days you’ll be able to get hundreds of Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS and Android games for significant discounts.

The gaming industry is one in which many game developers do not ultimately get to decide how much their game will sell for. Because We May is a new project aimed at promoting and selling games straight from developers to the users, thus allowing developers to have much more control over prices, which then allows the games to be sold at much lower prices than usual.

Because We May launched on May 24 with 60 games going on sale. The project gained popularity, and in only a few days, hundreds of developers chose to add their games to the sale. Because We May currently features 264 iOS games and 109 Android games, without even counting the hundreds of games available on Steam, The Mac App Store, and several other stores.

Because We May also features an entire section dedicated to direct sales, where you can buy dozens of Windows, Mac and Linux games directly from the developers’ websites. This way, developers can offer more than just discounts, but any form of pricing model they wish.

The games are listed on the website according to the order in which they were added. The list includes only a name and a price, and there is no way to filter them. This means you might have to browse a bit (or use browser page searches) to find games you’d like to buy, but the discounts are well worth it.

There are always sales and such going around. I'm not sure when the next one will be, but we'll do our best to catch these and announce them here. :)

Or you open the find function and search.

Obviously, if you already know about a specific game you're looking for, you don't have to browse through all of them. That's not always the case, though.
