If you follow my posts on MakeUseOf, you probably figured out that I absolutely love chocolate. If I could eat chocolate all day every day, I would most definitely do so without ever looking back. As it stands, I have to make do with looking for the best chocolate wherever I go, and wasting my yearly birthday presents on expensive chocolate.

Up until last month, I thought finding and going to the best chocolate stores is the ultimate way to discover new chocolate. And then I discovered Standard Cocoa. Unfortunately, I can’t actually enjoy Standard Cocoa myself as it’s currently U.S. only, but I can spread the word and tell as many chocolate lovers as possible about this extremely cool service. If this were available worldwide, I would probably have been their very first customer.

Enough Suspense, What IS Standard Cocoa?

This, my friends, is Standard Cocoa:

Standard Cocoa offers monthly subscriptions to chocolate. As simple as that. Subscribe to the service, and every month you’ll receive 3 delicious bars of chocolate from a different chocolate maker, all yours to enjoy.

Included you’ll also find a write-up telling you about this month’s chocolate maker, which bars you’re currently enjoying, and sometimes even promo codes for even more chocolate. Sounds to good to be true? I know.

So How Much Does It Cost?

If you’re not really into chocolate, and artisan chocolate tastes the same as a standard Hershey bar, I can already tell you this isn’t for you. If, however, you find yourself holding back so as to not spend your monthly salary in the new chocolate shop you just found, you’re going to love this immensely.

With Standard Cocoa, you can choose from three options: A monthly subscription, a 3-month subscription, and a 6-month subscription. If you just want to try it out, you can go for the first option, pay $22.50, enjoy three chocolate bars, and cancel right away. If you know you’re going to love it regardless, and realize that $6 per bar is a pretty good price for quality chocolate, you can go with the 6-month subscription for $18 per month.

Yes, I know it’s not free, but chocolate just isn’t. Especially if you want the really good stuff. But hey, shipping is always free!

What Chocolates Will I Get?

Good question. Standard Cocoa cooperates with different chocolate makers around the U.S., and features one chocolatier on its page every month. For September, for example, the featured chocolate maker is Fruition, which you can read all about on Standard Cocoa’s Featured page.

According to Standard Cocoa, in future months you can expect to see chocolatiers such as Dick Taylor and Madre Chocolate featured, so if you’ve always wanted a taste, here’s an excellent chance to do so!

Check out Standard Cocoa’s featured page toward the end of each month to find out which chocolate maker will be featured next month. Subscribe by the 1st of the month to receive that month’s shipment.

This Is Too Good For Me
