UberWriter is a simple distraction-free writing editor for the GNU/Linux platform. You simply download the app and start using it. There are no preferences or settings to adjust. It has markdown syntax support, for example, when you write **bold** it becomes bold or *italic* for italic (learn more about Markdown syntax).

It has a clean distraction-free interface including Focus Mode, which highlights only the last sentence in the paragraph. Other features include spell checking as you type, counting of lines and characters and a fullscreen mode. Once your document is ready you can export it to PDF, HTML or RTF formats.
