Everyone is embracing GIFs. Forget the fact that Vine has been mothballed. Today, a search engine like Giphy is worth a cool $600 million. Because it can find the perfect GIF and you can express anything with it.

So, why not music videos?

VEVO released its very own GIF maker a few days back. The music streaming service has one of the largest collection of music videos outside YouTube.

Select your favorite video. See the little GIF button under the video? Click that and go to the GIF editing page. Now you can scroll the time mark until you pick which five-second part of the video you want to make into a GIF. Just scrub through the video till you find the mood that says it best.

Add a caption under the video and share it on Twitter and Facebook. Or just grab the URL and share it wherever you like.

VEVO is working to put the GIF button on its entire catalog of more than 230,000 videos. Some videos are also restricted by digital rights. So, don't be disappointed it you miss turning your favorite artist into an animated loop.

YouTube also hosts a subset of VEVO videos and you can turn any video into a GIF with a variety of tools including Giphy's own GIF maker. But then this Aladdin's cave is owned by two of the biggest record labels in the world, Universal Music Group and Sony Music Entertainment.
