Tumblr finally updated their iOS application and made it worth having on your device. Before this update, even the most dedicated Tumblr users had a hard time using the app. With this update, every detail of the user interface has been redone. Tumblr seems to have realized that their iPhone app was woefully behind the competition, and thankfully, they have taken the necessary steps to correct it.

The first thing you will notice when you boot up the app is a brand new dashboard. It is much sleeker and easier to navigate around than the previous version. They have also improved the accuracy of tapping things on the screen. This was a huge problem with the older version of the app, and the change goes a long way towards improving overall usability.

Some of the other major improvements come in the way you view pictures on the app. You can now view high resolution images, which is perfect for people with a Retina display on their device. They also redesigned the image viewer, making it much more user friendly.

The app also includes a ton of smaller improvements such as Spotify support, tag search, notifications all in one place and new and improved post forms. You can also create posts, reblog, like and reply when your device is not connected to the Internet.

Overall, this is a fantastic update. It’s great to see that Tumblr realized that their app had some serious usability issues, and that they have improved it in almost every imaginable way. What do you think of the Tumblr app now?

Tumblr for iPhone? Oh boy, I didn't even know this app exists - version 3 already. (To be honest, I'm not a fan of installing countless apps on my little device...)
Hm! The interface looks quite simple and intuitive. I have to give it a try.

P.S.: Thanks for let me know about it.
