TrendMicro – Free Online Spyware Removal Tool

By Aibek on Oct. 12th, 2006

Trend Micro HouseCall is a free online virus and spyware SCAN and REMOVAL tool. In case you do not have any spyware removal software installed on your system this can be a good alternative. Once in a while, I get spyware that goes undected (or detected but failed to be removed) through my current Anti-Spyware programs, usually when this happens TrendMicro does a good job at removing it.

I would also recommend many internet cafe users to run PC though TrendMicro scan before providing any sensitive data. Or better not to provide any sensitive data all, do it only when you’re connecting from your own computer. However, if you have no other choice and have to access sensitive accounts from public PC then check out these Public PC safety tips.

As it is a web based application, TrendMicro’s software runs directly from your browser.

To secure a connection on a government or otherwise private connection, trendMicro can provide the necessary security. For my innocent blogging activities at public computers, trendMicro is a superfluous precaution. My responsibility at Internet cafes does not extend outside of the realm of accessing publicly accepted websites and paying for the smallest amount of time.
