Tranquillity is a web app that was made with the poet in mind, and after looking at the given features, it may be perfect. Available on the site is a fairly blank canvas free from distractions, designed purely for putting fingers to keys. Ease of use is prevalent in the website since users can pull it up and start writing instantly.
Once you start writing, you’ll see Tranquillity’s features come to life. The most simplest feature of all is its syllable count on the left-hand side of the screen. This will save you time since you don’t have to count out each and every part of the word.
On the right hand side, you will see a box where you can enter your desired rhyme scheme. As you write, Tranquillity will present rhyme options based on the last words of each line and the rhyme scheme that you have inserted. This may very well be the most-used feature of the app.
Granted, it’s not perfect. For instance, I typed in the word “wind” for my poem above, and I was presented with a selection of rhymes that interpreted “wind” as being associated with clocks rather than heavy breezes.
Overall, Tranquillity is what we could consider a simple app. It isn’t feature-heavy at all, and it only helps you with one type of task. Even still, this means Tranquillity devotes more resources into these limited areas, making them out to be the best that they can be.
