A lot of really nifty stuff is being updated on the iPhone in the past few days. First, we had that significant update for Google Search, and now we have everyone’s favourite automation machine, IFTTT, bringing out two new actions, for iOS Photos & Reminders. It’s an interesting time to be an iPhone owner if you are easily dazzled by new features.
Although I tend to want to get my photos off the phone as soon as possible, and onto my PC, some people like to build albums on their phone and hoard thousands of photos. If so, there are two new IFTTT recipes available which you will probably love. If you are tagged in a Facebook photo, you can now have them sent directly to your iOS Photo Albums.
If you’re an Instagram fan, you can now have all of the photos you “liked” sent straight to an iOS album.
There are also two new recipes related to iOS Reminders. One which I am already finding especially useful is the ability to tag a Gmail email “to-do” and have it show up on an iOS Reminders list. What a lifesaver!
The last one is one which not a lot of people may use, since it requires the use of a $130 wristband. But if you have the Jawbone UP, then you can set this IFTTT channel to remind you to do a workout if you haven’t done one within a specified number of days.
Have you tried these new features? If so, do you think they work great, or do they need a bit more tweaking? Also, what iOS features would you like to see automated by IFTTT?
