Stranger Things is returning to Netflix, with a second season of the immensely popular science fiction series coming this Halloween. We know because Netflix teased Stranger Things 2 with an ad shown during Super Bowl LI. Yes, Stranger Things 2 warranted its own Super Bowl ad.

There was a lot of great television to watch last year, including Westworld, Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead, and Mr. Robot. However, Stranger Things stands out as an absolute highlight, with this being one of the new Netflix Originals of 2016 that actually lived up to the hype.

After the incredible success of the first season, Netflix commissioned a second season. And Stranger Things 2 is set to be available to stream just in time for Halloween 2017. Which means you have eight months to catch up with the first season and shed a tear or two for poor old Barb.

Netflix Teases Stranger Things 2

Netflix isn't giving much away about Stranger Things 2 yet, although we can only assume the company will be drip-feeding us information over the course of 2017. In the meantime, all we have to go on is the description accompanying the first teaser trailer:

"A year after Will’s return, everything seems back to normal… but a darkness lurks just beneath the surface, threatening all of Hawkins."

The trailer itself reveals that all of our favorite residents of Hawkins, Indiana are back again. Eleven is alive, the kids are all dressed as Ghostbusters, and there's, well, a strange thing visible in the sky. Which suggests the Demogorgon was just the start of things to come.

Another Nostalgic Nod to Steven Spielberg

Stranger Things is a gem of a TV series. We love it because of its nostalgic nod to Steven Spielberg, the atmospheric settings, the casting choices, and the engrossing plot that draws you in and refuses to let go. We just hope Stranger Things 2 is as gobsmackingly good as the first season.

If you get impatient waiting for October to arrive, here are eight TV shows all Stranger Things fans should enjoy.

Have you watched Stranger Things yet? Did you enjoy it as much as we did? Is it the best original show Netflix has made so far? Or can you recommend something even better? Will you be watching Stranger Things 2? Please let us know in the comments below!
