Grand Theft Auto V is here, and the video game world is rejoicing! Reviewers around the web are showering the game with praise, and rightly so, as I’ve yet to find a legitimate flaw in the game. However, there is one thing missing to round out the Grand Theft Auto V experience; multiplayer.

Fear not, loyal GTA fan, as the multiplayer is set to launch soon after the game, so before we know it, the open world crime playground will be available to play with your friends. And who doesn’t love partaking in a little bit of mayhem with buddies?

For a few of you, GTA V might not have sold you yet. Maybe you are holding out, and you’re sitting on the fence. Well let me tell you why, if the single player was not enough, GTA Online should make the decision of whether you want to run out to your local store and buy the game easy.

Persistence

Call of Duty and Halo have the charts on lock down, and games like Battlefield and Crysis are... Read More such a success was the persistent character and how well it was executed. Instead of only having your improved skill level to show for your countless hours of dedication, with COD4, you had ranks, guns, and challenges to let everyone know how you were doing. Now, a little piece of that action is making its way into GTA V, as Rockstar has announced that your online persona will carry with you as you play with friends.

This persistence gives playing online a greater sense of purpose. In many ways, the game is almost like a scaled down MMO The Elder Scrolls Is Going To Be Massive; Massively Multiplayer, That Is [Updates] The Elder Scrolls Is Going To Be Massive; Massively Multiplayer, That Is [Updates] Read More . Rockstar announced it and said the following:

In Grand Theft Auto Online, players have the freedom to explore alone or with friends, work cooperatively to complete missions, band together to participate in activities and ambient events, or compete in traditional game modes with the entire community, all with the personality and refined mechanics of Grand Theft Auto V.

Players can invest in their character through customizing their appearance, improving their stats, owning customized vehicles, purchasing personal property, and taking part in missions, jobs and activities to earn reputation and cash to open up new opportunities to rise through the criminal ranks. The world of Grand Theft Auto Online will constantly grow and change as new content is added, creating the first ever persistent and dynamic Grand Theft Auto game world.

I don’t know about you, but to me, that sounds like a blast, and like something I just can’t see my life without.

Character Creation

To go along with the fact that your character is persistent in GTA Online, there is also the fact that it will be your character. Instead of a world filled with Michael and Franklin from the single player story, gamers will be able to customize their own felon, which will further add to the sense of attachment and meaning.

Sadly, Rockstar has not provided too many details about just how creating characters will work, but if there’s one thing we can know with 100-percent confidence is that it will be done well, as the developer is known for putting quality into everything it makes.

Huge Amount Of Content

The GTA games are known for offering an incredibly vast amount of content in each of its games, and it has already promised that players will have access to over 500 missions, with more coming down the line. That’s a ton of content available to players right off the bat when the online hits.

If all those missions wouldn’t keep you busy, there will also be a tool that will allow players to create their own missions. This means you can spend time building custom missions, and if you aren’t creative, you can simply play those created by other players.

What all of this means is that if you enjoy the gameplay mechanics in GTA V, and who wouldn’t enjoy all the fun it offers,  playing online will keep you busy for nearly limitless hours. Even if you buy the game for $60, you will most certainly be getting a tremendous value.

Competitive and Cooperative Gameplay

Do you like teaming with a group of friends or strangers and shooting other strangers? Is getting a group together and blasting your way through missions more your style? Well, lucky for you, because GTA Online offers both. That’s right, the giant multiplayer world will feature all the team deathmatch and cooperative gameplay you could want. Essentially, you are getting two multiplayer games in one.

Conclusion

If you’re still on the fence knowing all the incredible feature offered in online that are hitting on October 1, along with the near perfect single player campaign already available, than perhaps GTA V is just not the game for you. For the rest of you, what are you waiting for? Get out there and buy Grand Theft Auto V right now, because it truly is something special.

Not coming out on PC guys. You never know though, they may change their minds.
    I wouldn't hold my breath.
I like PC for modding and performance but you can't stick to one thing in life. Variety being the spice and all. Man up and buy a PS3 and enjoy games when they come like me.
If they then do come out on PC buy them again and enjoy all the extras PC games have to offer.
This would be the intelligent thing to do instead of complaining all the time.
