McAfee Site Advisor
McAfee Site Advisor is a free, light-weight and simple-to-use security addon for your browser (Firefox | IE). It helps you stay away from various online threats(spyware, viruses, scam…etc) by warning you in advance. For instance, it can tell you whether the website you’re about to visit/register with is clean and scam-free OR whether the file you are about to download isn’t a virus and so on.

How does it work?
Once you download and install McAfee tollbar, your browser should display following icon (you may need to restart it though). Afterwards, as you browse web it will change it’s color depending on the safety level of the visited websites; i.e. red for warning and green for OK. And whenever you search search on Google, Yahoo, MSN, AOL, or Ask.com it will display safety ratings next to each search result, letting you detect malicious sources in advance. Check it out below…
