The guys and girls at Spotify never take a break and it seems like every day we are reporting on them adding a cool new feature to one of their applications. The most recent Spotify iOS App update adds push notifications, improved graphics on Retina devices, an intro guide for new Spotify users and plenty of bug fixes and performance upgrades for users who were experiencing issues.
The big feature for this Spotify update is the addition of push notifications. This will allow you to receive notifications when someone makes a change to one of your subscribed playlists. You can also receive notifications when someone subscribes to one of your playlists, or when a new friend joins Spotify.
For people who can’t stand notifications, you can easily turn any of these off within the settings. You can pick and choose which things you would like to be notified about, or simply turn them all off.
In addition to notifications, this update also improves offline syncing of high resolution cover art. Whenever you sync a playlist, high resolution cover art will always be downloaded.
Spotify also included a handy guide for new users in the new iOS app. If you have never tried Spotify before, this guide will help you get going quickly and easily.
Of course, the latest iOS app update has also addressed plenty of bug fixes. Users who were not seeing Retina graphics during login will not have that problem anymore. Also fixed was an issue where the app would become unresponsive after scrolling and navigating at the same time.
