Of course, you could always use Spotify on your iPad with the iPhone app, but the iPhone version doesn’t look anywhere near as good as this dedicated app for iPad. In fact, Charlie Hellman, Spotify’s director of product development called it “the most beautiful screen we’ve made for a Spotify app”.

The new app is ready for the new iPad. It features beautiful Retina graphics with high-definition album art and looks incredible. It’s easy to agree that it’s the most beautiful of any of the Spotify apps. According to Hellman they “wanted to take advantage of the amazing display that this device has, particularly the most recent iPad, to offer the most visually immersive living-room stereo replacement”.

In addition to looking stunning, the app also adds a dedicated inbox icon so you can view messages from your friends quickly and easily. It also adds a cover-flow navigation style for playlists, gapless playback and DJ friendly crossfade.

You will need a Spotify premium account to get access to the iPad app. If you do not have a premium account, you can sign up for a 30 day trial and decide if it’s worth it for you.
