Windows 3.1? Really? I wasn’t aware you could even run Firefox on that OS.

No need to be so humble. I think this script would be more useful than the add on. Can you please provide the script here ? Probably offer it as freeware on some site or add another chapter on it on this site. I am quite interested in it.

A big limitation with Auto shutdown is that you are bound to work on firefox. So i think there should be some tool which could work irrespective of the browsers.

What about:
shutdown -s -t [whatever] -f under Windows?
Something similar under Linux (can’t remember the syntax right now…)
