PDFs are a common form of sharing documents, and Mac users will typically use Adobe Reader or OSX Preview to view them. However, Soda PDF for Mac is an alternative PDF viewer that has a few extra tricks up its sleeve.
First of all, Soda PDF is fast. The app quickly opens documents and has them ready to go without any waiting time whatsoever. Granted, this isn’t to say that the usual apps that do this are slow, by any means. However, Soda PDF has a slight noticeable difference, and paired with its other features, you’ll see how great it really is.
You can create PDFs from virtually any document, and with the Soda PDF plugin, you can view documents while in any Microsoft Office application. Granted, there is currently no support for Apple’s iWorks.
The app also allows you to view documents in “3D”. Although I was not able to extensively test this, it’s understood that the digital comics can be viewed in a format that includes the ability to “flip” pages as if they are a real book. That’s pretty cool. Other features allow you to properly fill in forms so you don’t have to mess with a bunch of printing and scanning – that’s always annoying.
Soda PDF is a simple PDF viewer, creator, and modifier that can be incorporated for a variety of uses. You may like it, so give it a try, and see if it’s a good addition to your digital toolset.
