At the moment, the trendy thing to do online is snip, collect and curate information, whether it’s showing photos on Pinterest or sharing 140 characters worth of wisdom on Twitter. Now Snipplist wants to go a step further and provide people with the ability to snip small blocks of text and save it online, as well as share that text with other people.

All you need to do is sign up for an account, which at the moment is confined to only a Facebook login, and then drag the Snipplist bookmark to your browser bar.  Then when you see text that you would like to highlight and share, just highlight the text with your mouse and click the Snipplist bookmark.  Snipplist then takes the text, as well as the weblink to the page in question, in case users want to see in what context the text was said (something which can sometimes be a problem on Twitter) and places it on the Snipplist feed.

The service is still quite young but this is one to keep an eye on in the future.

Features

  • Sign up with a Facebook account login.
  • Snip blocks of text by highlighting with your mouse and clicking the bookmark.
  • Weblink to the page is also captured to provide context to the text.
