Sensor-Size is a critical component in determining the quality of picture you can expect from a digital camera. However, even though many cameras give this measurement, it is difficult to understand values such as ratios (for example 1.1.2) or millimeters (for example 24 x 16). This tool helps you understand these measurements better by converting them into inches. Ratios are usually used by smaller cameras and millimeters are used by usually large DSLRs.

Simply enter the values your camera provides and Sensor Size will tell you how much it is in inches, diagonally. You can also use the tool to compare sensor sizes for a variety of digital cameras and follow links to get more information on various digital camera features.

This shouldn't be required if Americans wouldn't be so stubborn to realize that the whole world "speaks" metric and they better adapt to it and learn it.
