Scan and Protect is an iOS application that lets you store all physical documents securely online. The app is sized at nearly 3 MB and requires your iPod Touch, iPhone, or iPad device to be running version 4.3 or later of iOS. The problem with physical documents, apart from taking physical care of them, is that you cannot put a password on them. Anybody who takes a look at your physical documents can get the document’s information right away. While this might not be a problem for most documents, there are certainly a few documents that you would want to keep private and secure.

A solution for handling them is provided by the iOS app called Scan and Protect. Using this application, you can scan your sensitive physical documents and have them uploading to your Scan and Protect online account. These documents can be protected using 256-bit SSL key security.

When you upload documents, they are sent as images. Therefore to decrypt them, the encoding time depends on how complicated and intricate the image is. You can adjust the image quality in order to reduce the decrypting time taken up by the application. Overall, this application provides you with an easy and secure way to create a backup of your physical documents online.

Check out the following video for a demo of the application:

The application is not free. It is currently priced at $2.99 from the iTunes app store. But the app’s developers have generously provided MakeUseOf readers with 20 free promo codes. To get them, simply be the first to comment and share this post on Facebook.

I like the protection feature. I can't tell if there is an ability to share documents. Also, is there any compatibility with Google Docs?
