Roku Offers Bundle With Six Months Of Hulu Plus For $79.99 [Updates]

If you’re looking for an inexpensive media player, the Roku is an excellent choice that’s now been made even more attractive thanks to a bundle that throws in six months of Hulu Plus (however Hulu Plus is only available in the USA). Included in the package is a Roku HD, Hulu, an HDMI cable and free shipping to US addresses.

The claimed full retail price is $127.91, which means the bundle saves you about $45. Of course, the calculation is a bit skewed in Roku’s favor – it includes a $9.99 chip charge, for example – but $79.99 is still an excellent deal.

The Roku HD is the company’s least expensive player. It only supports 720p video. It also does not include the enhanced RF remote, a free Angry Birds game or an Ethernet port for a wired Internet connection. Of these features the lack of 1080p video is the only one users are likely to miss. The deal is not available with the company’s more expensive Roku 2 XD and Roku 2 XS hardware.

Access to Hulu Plus comes via a gift card which includes six months of subscription. It’s not a special or promotional version – you receive the same service as any other Hulu Plus subscriber.

You’ll have to act quickly to jump on this bundle because it expires on June 17th. Read our top 6 reasons why you need a Roku if you’d like some encouragement.
