I got an email that said that "Jim R" posted a comment here, to which I'd like to reply, but I don't see his post here. He said:

"Sometimes you want to clear just your Contacts so you can reload with a clean cleared list, not to mention giving or selling your phone to someone else, but want to leave your free apps and utilities on it for the next person"

I don't see the problem, assuming that you have a computer, Outlook, and a USB cable, all of which you should have if using a Windows Mobile phone. Simply hook the phone to the computer, set up the usual sync partnership (if it's not already set up), then use Outlook on the computer to drop all the contacts (^A, <DEL>). If you do this while the phone is connected the contacts will be deleted from the phone. What's hard about that?

Tell us if you like Windows Mobile Sync software Larry. :)

This sounds like a neat app, but it would be MUCH NEATER if it had the option of DELETING ALL CONTACTS. The reason for this is the only way you can delete all Contacts on Win Mobile is via the Clear Storage app, which deletes ALL your memory, including any apps you installed since phone was new.

I understand SKTools commercial application can do this, as well as many other phone management/cleaning/maintenance tasks.

A smartphone that can't be backed up to the computer without hosing your data is worse than useless. I have a smarthphone running that crap M$ garbage excuse for an OS. I started with Activesync on XP. Then I went to the horrible "Windows Sync Center" (WSC) on Vista. After totally deleting the data on my phone several times, I found that WSC is totally stupid and can not sync the phone data in any intelligent way. Regardless of what option you set, the data on the computer overwrites the data on the phone, which is usually disastrous. To deal with it, you have to totally delete the sync relationship from the computer so that when you hook up the phone the computer doesn't recognize it. Then the computer will grab the data from your phone. It's utter crapware. On top of that, it won't sync contacts unless you install crap-bloatware Outlook. And when you do that? Then it duplicates any contact you've edited on your phone since the last sync. All M$ software is crap, but Windows Mobile and associated syncing systems are utter crap. Avoid.

Thank you for this detailed information on the contacts cleaner app. Whether you use windows mobile, android, iphone, etc you definitely have the same type of issues that can occur for some people. Thanks again.
