The developers of Reddit Meta - 7 Awesome Subreddits All About Reddit Meta - 7 Awesome Subreddits All About Reddit Reddit is rapidly becoming my favorite site on the Web. I'm a latecomer to its powers of seduction, being a veritable n00b compared to some of the other writers here at MakeUseOf. But I'm keen... Read More announced on Friday that it will effectively introduce a new way of presenting its already-existing “multi-reddits”. Users will soon be able to streamline the process of creating multi-reddits and be able to share them using unique URLs.

For those of you who don’t know, multi-reddits are the grouping of individual forums found on Reddit (called “reddits” or “subreddits”). This has typically always been done by typing a specialized URL: “reddit.com/r/subreddit1+subreddit2…”

However, users will eventually have the ability to go to a dedicated URL for these multi-reddits. In short, the system of multi-reddits will be much like the existing subreddit communities.

All of a user’s subscribed multi-reddits will be accessible via a tab on the left of the Front Page. Users will also be able to utilize the new multi-reddits as multiple custom Front Pages to create a much more personalized browsing experience.

The new system is currently only available via beta (at reddit.com/r/multibeta), and it is also only open to Reddit Gold users. Since the system is currently in beta, Reddit is also gathering insight from its users to see how it can be changed and improved.

The developers of Reddit recently came to the conclusion that there can’t be one Front Page that truly represents all of Reddit. By offering the option for users to create their own customized Front Pages, the site can selectively appeal to various audiences.

How do you feel about the new streamlining of the multi-reddits? Will you consider purchasing a Reddit Gold membership to participate? Have you tried out the multibeta?
