Great novelists and writers are successful, to a great degree, in capturing feelings and emotions through text. Most of us, however, are not great novelists and writers. The form of text through which we mostly communicate with are text messages. Thus even if we were exceptional writers, using long sentences to describe our feelings would simply not be an option in SMS. What we use to make up for this are emoticons – those cute smileys that get our point across.

But those smileys, while cute, are still only drawings and do not properly add emotions to what we are trying to convey. Here to fill that gap using emoticons made up of real facial expressions is the smartphone app called Real Emoticons.

Real Emoticons is a free to use smartphone application that is compatible with iOS devices. The app is sized at nearly 8 MB and requires your iPod Touch, iPhone, or iPad device to be running version 6.0 or later of iOS. Using this application, you are able to use many emoticons that resemble actual facial expressions. You don’t have to rely on those ‘cute’ smileys any more. Not only will you be having a great range of emoticons to try, but you will also surprise your friends each time in a fun way since they will not be expecting to receive these emoticons with your texts.
