More and more people read electronic books (or eBooks) these days. They are more convenient to read, faster to access and most of the time cheaper. Most of the eBooks are published in ePub format. ePub is a free and standard eBook format, which is supported by most eBook reader manufacturers and mobile devices including iPhone/iPad, Sony Reader, Android devices, Barnes & Noble Nook and others.

But if you don’t have a dedicated eBook reader or don’t want to download the eBook reading software on to your mobile device, check out Readium. It is an extension for Chrome that lets you read eBooks published in ePub format right from your browser. You simply have to add the URL of an ePub file or upload ePub file from your computer to Readium to start reading it.

Once your eBook is uploaded it will be processed and organized by table of contents (Introduction, chapters etc). Chapters are visible on the left and you can quickly jump back and forth between them. You can increase or decrease the text font size, adjust book margins, select text and background colours or the display format (single page/double page) from the Options tab at the top right corner.

Add as many eBooks as you want and build your own personal library online, which you can access right from within your browser anytime.

Yes. I think you can also convert your epub books to other format and then read them on different devices.
