For those of you, like myself, who like to do nearly all your reading and writing on a digital device, the developers of the online bookmarking and annotation site, Diigo.com, has created Readict for the iPad.  This is a useful and practical RSS feed reader and annotation tool that allows you to both access and download your favorite feeds, but also make text highlights, add notes, and bookmark articles for later reading. Readict is a great app for students, researchers, writers, bloggers, etc., who do most of their online reading on their iPad.

This week, we’ll be giving away 25 free copies of Readict. Continue reading to learn more about Readict and how to win a free copy from our giveaway.

Readict – RSS Reader

If you browse for most of your online reading material using a RSS feed reader, Diigo’s iPad app, Readict, will be of use to you.  Readict has a magazine style layout with each feed subscription graphically displayed for easy preview and access. You can have as many pages of feeds as you like.

What makes Readict unique is its highlighter and sticky note tools that many readers like to use for study and research purposes, or just for active reading.

Adding Feeds

Adding feed sources to Readict can be done through their featured source list that includes the ideas and product site, Cool Hunting, Engadget; the design site, Smashing Magazine, and the image bookmarking site, FFFOUND!—all ready for immediate download.

You can also add feeds via an extensive category of sources including Art and Photography, Design, Lifestyle, News, and Tech and Science. Custom feeds can be added from your Google Reader account, and via keyword search. Readict also includes Twitter integration for adding and reviewing your favorite marked tweets, the links in your Twitter timeline, and your Twitter lists.

Annotation Tools

Readict makes it easy for you to annotate articles. When you highlight text as you do in Apple’s iBooks and the Amazon Kindle app, you get the option to copy, highlight, or attach a note to the selected text.

You can access and review all your highlights in a separate menu of Readict. Your highlights can also be saved and archived for free to your Diigo account.
