Rdio has released a brand new version of its Android app, adding and changing many features, and optimizing it even better for Ice Cream Sandwich. Rdio is one of the big names in the streaming music world, and offers its services in the U.S., Canada, Germany, Brazil, Australia and New Zealand.
If you’re in one of those countries, you can try out Rdio’s new and improved music app for Android, which features a brand new home screen for easy access to the app’s important features, an enhancement of the app’s social aspect, playback control and album art on the lock screen (Ice Cream Sandwich), and more.
So what can you expect to find in the new app? First of all, the home screen is much improved, and provides easy access to new releases, recommendations, playlists, etc.

As previously mentioned, the new version emphasizes the social aspect, and lets you search the apps for other people, view what playlist they’re listening to, and add them as friends from the app. The search also lets you focus on tracks you’ve synced for offline listening, even when you’re not in offline mode. This means you can simply choose to listen only to tracks you don’t have to stream, and thus save some precious battery life, if you need it.
Rdio lets you have all this on your mobile device for $9.99 a month, and there are some discounts if you’re purchasing the service for more than one person (family plans). If you’re not sure, you can sign up for a 7-days free trial from within the app or from www.rdio.com.

wow thats nice it works on samsung galaxy s ???
Should work, maybe not with all the ICS features, though.
Is Rdio as good as Spotify? Has anyone seen a comparison of them?
Unfortunately, where I live neither is available. I did have a chance to try Spotify, and I quite liked it, but I didn’t get to try Rdio a whole lot.
Looks a lot nicer than the old app. I’m an Rdio subscriber, but the old Android app didn’t thrill me and I wasn’t about to spend another $5/month for it.
Ah, so maybe you can tell us how Rdio is better than Spotify.
Rdio is better than Spotify for me because Spotify isn’t available in Canada.
Exciting reason, huh?
Ah! Well then. I wish everything wasn’t so geo-restricted!
