The popular streaming music service, Rdio.com, launched two new features on its iOS app to allow users to update playlists on their iPhone or iPod touch and write album and playlist reviews from within the app. These two updates mirror the features found in the desktop and website versions of Rdio.
The playlist update allows users to create, add, rearrange, and remove individual tracks and albums. To do so, press and hold down an album cover or song track to open the app menu. Your playlists can also be shared with and subscribed by other Rdio members. You can also customize the playlist artwork, change its visibility and collaboration settings, and more. Playlists are part of your Rdio account and thus are synced between your devices.
To write a review or leave a comment on an album or playlist, scroll down to the bottom of the page of the selected content. Unlike with the desktop version of Rdio, however, individual tracks can’t be selected for direct review. The mobile app also allows songs, albums, and playlists to be shared to Facebook and Twitter, and other Rdio members.
The playlist and review features are not yet available in the iPad version the Rdio app, but the Rdio says the features will be added to Android soon.
Rdio provides free limited non-subscription access to its streaming music catalog. Unlimited listening and other features are available for $9.99 per month, or $4.99 for desktop access only. Rdio is available worldwide, and is headquartered in San Francisco.
