I love Reddit, you love Reddit, we all love Reddit. What do you mean you don't love Reddit? You should, because it's an awesome resource for content of every possible description. And if you don't believe me then read on to discover the stranger side of Reddit.

We have previously explored five ways of randomizing the Internet. The idea being to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no man has gone before. Which is a totally original mission, obviously.

These bizarre subreddits allow us to do just that. Prepare to venture into the obscure part of the Internet.

Pointless Stories

reddit-pointless-stories

Some people are blessed with full lives full of interesting happenings they can then turn into amazing anecdotes. And then there are the rest of us, who live out our humdrum lives in which nothing particularly interesting or inspiring occurs.

For those people there is Pointless Stories, a subreddit that exists for dull people to tell their dull stories. The result is surprisingly fascinating. You'll spend far too long here reading stories no one should care about. And not regret it even for a second.

Cats Are Assholes

reddit-cats-are-assholes

We all know the Internet is obsessed with cats. They're far more popular on the tubes than stupid, smelly dogs. And yet cats aren't always those cute, cuddly things your typical cat lover would have you believe. Sometimes cats are assholes.

It's up to you whether you believe cats are assholes on purpose or entirely by accident, but the fact remains they occasionally embark in epic assholery. This subreddit exists for people to post examples of cats being assholes. It's certainly not short on content.

Life Of Norman

reddit-life-of-norman

Norman, full name Norman Tebbutt, is a fictional character that has been given a life, a wife (who has now divorced him for a younger man), a son (who has moved away), and a cat. Called Norman.

No one quite knows why Norman has a subreddit dedicated to him, but he does. And it's glorious. The Life Of Norman is written in the third-person with most stories under 100 words. Meaning you can read more of them in one sitting.

Screaming Fish

reddit-screaming-fish

I bet you've never heard a fish scream. I know I haven't. The only reason for this is that screaming fish are incredible rare beasts, and capturing their kind on film takes a skilled photographer.

These skilled photographers all hang out on Screaming Fish, a subreddit that exists solely to catalog these extraordinary creatures. The only evidence we have of them actually screaming is the written interpretation of their screams, but that's surely enough.

Hodor

Subreddit - Hodor

Hodor hodor hodor hodor hodor, hodor hodor hodor hodor hodor hodor hodor hodor hodor hodor hodor hodor hodor hodor. Hodor hodor hodor, hodor hodor hodor? Hodor hodor hodor hodor. Hodor hodor hodor hodor.

Hodor hodor hodor hodor hodor? Hodor. Hodor hodor hodor hodor hodor hodor hodor hodor hodor hodor. hodor hodor hodor! Hodor hodor hodor, hodor hodor hodor. Hodor hodor hodor hodor Hodor hodor hodor hodor. Hodor.

Avocados Gone Wild

reddit-avocados-gone-wild

It's not only girls that are capable of going wild. Men are capable of it too. As are avocados. No, you read that correctly. Avocados are by far the flirtiest, most outrageous fruits that exist on this planet we call Earth.

Avocados Gone Wild is, as you may have guessed, a subreddit dedicated to exploring avocados going wild in their natural environment. You won't know what I mean until you click on one of the links and see a photographic representation of avocados gone wild. And remember, it's only pornographic if your mind makes it pornographic.

Where Did The Soda Go?

reddit-where-soda-go

Infomercials make for truly ridiculous television viewing. And yet I bet there isn't one person reading this who hasn't sat enchanted by at least one infomercial late at night when they're too tired or lazy to find the remote control. This subreddit is for you.

Where Did The Soda Go? exists to find clips from infomercials and adverts that make absolutely no sense when viewed out of context. To be honest they made little sense when viewed in context, so this just completes the effect.

One True God

reddit-one-true-god

We tend to steer clear of religion here on MakeUseOf, because, in case you haven't noticed, people can get quite impassioned about it all. However, we all know the ultimate truth… that there is only one true God, and his name is Nicolas Cage.

One True God is a subreddit dedicated to praising Nicolas Cage. The religion is called Cagenism and its followers are called Cagenists or Nicolites. You can choose to either believe in Him or be consigned to Hell, which these days is run by John Travolta.

Birds With Arms

reddit-birds-with-arms

A creature almost as rare as screaming fish are birds with arms. These feathered fiends have arms where their wings should be. Because evolution is a cruel and fickle mistress. The bonus is how funny they are to look at.

Birds With Arms is a subreddit devoted to freaky mashups between man and beast, with each post revealing another bird with arms. No, you haven't taken hallucinogenic drugs, this is all completely real. Photoshop real.

Fifth World Pics

reddit-fifth-world-pics

We should all be familiar with the concept of three worlds: the first world being superpowers, the second being lesser powers, the third being exploited nations or, in more recent terms, developing nations. However, there is also a fourth world of subpopulations, and a fifth world which defies logical explanation.

Fifth World Pics is a subreddit filled with images from the fifth world, a place where our notions of time and space are twisted beyond all recognition. Be careful, as once you've fallen down the rabbit hole it's hard to climb back out.
