Are you going to quit Facebook due to privacy concerns? [Poll]

Last week, we asked you How do you normally watch TV? And not surprisingly, the majority of you watch TV shows on a TV!

The poll options: On a TV held 38.1%.  Next up, with 19.8% is: Download torrents to watch on a computer. Coming in third place with 11.6% was: Download torrents to watch on a TV (includes set-top DVD and DIVX players) — this is how I watch most of my TV shows. Fourth place was: I do not watch TV with 10.7% ““- wow.

I was not expecting such a high number of non-TV watchers! How many people do you know who do not watch TV?

You can view the results after the jump, and on to today’s poll!

This week, we are asking you if you would quit Facebook due to security/privacy concerns. There has been a lot of hub bub lately surrounding some controversial moves that Facebook has made. A lot of users are planning on quitting Facebook on May 31st, 2010. Are you one of them? Do you care about Facebook’s security policies? We would love to hear from you in the comments.

Answer the poll below and be sure to leave a comment to have your voice heard!

What? I don’t think I have heard of such security concerns.

(Excuse my bad english/grammar) Well, maybe another opcion could be “No, because I’ve already take actions to ensure privacy” and this could be my choice =D

mmm, I would quit if Facebook doesn’t do a complete 180 with regards to their privacy policies in the near future. I’ve dealt with all their craziness by being on top of it all, but I would prefer to not have to be constantly worried about my Facebook profile. And, well, it’s just not worth it anymore.

I prefer spending more time here, on MakeUseOf.com than on Facebook. That said, the privacy and security issues with FB are expected given its sheer size and popularity. That doesn’t mean people are going to abandon it (at least I hope not, because it’s a wonderful network).

But the developers there do need to double-think their roadmap for the future and the many valid concerns of its users. That’s the only way a global social network can truly mature.

I deleted my account so what I have posted wouldn’t mistakenly appear, but I created another account just to stay in the social loop of things – but now I don’t comment, or post status updates like I used to.

Let’s just say that Facebook is now my Google Reader of my friends and family.

Another choice should be, “No, but I do not use it the way I used to.” And that is essentially what I have done…the account is active, but I rarely post or update my status anymore. At least not until some of these issues are addressed.

As others have noted this poll doesn’t have enough options. I voted Don’t Care but in fact mean Don’t Use It Enough to Worry Overmuch.

I quit a month ago, using a suicide machine. My boyfriend was happy I found a way to quit — instead of just “deactivating an account” — and quit, too.

Do not care about privacy nonsense:) Big group of people thinks, that the internet is the place where you don’t have to be responsible for your actions. That this is a pleace where you can be really FREE?:)) BOING! Not true. People want to do stupid things as an anonymous. And once again when it’s not possible, they start to complain…

I have already dumped facebook totally & will never return, should be a option on the poll.

That’s what I did & recommend to all users. Facebook has always intended to mine your data, they just got caught selling it.
